Cloud Detection from Satellite Images by Wavelets

Cloud detection and corresponding classification are an important problem in numerical weather forecast and remote sensing in general. The present paper introduces the wavelet transform as an aid tool for solving the problem. A case study based on METEOSAT images and on an available Cloud Analysis product is considered.
