Chapter Five – Detailed Design

This chapter speaks about the detailed design phase of a project and the piping lead’s responsibilities during this phase when the piping designs are developed. It reiterates the rational of the preplanning discussed in the previous chapters and explains the key activities the piping lead must be aware of and nurture throughout. The successful outcome of the detailed piping design execution depends upon the piping lead’s vigilance and adherence to the established plans and the capacity to organize the work. The organizational methodologies that need to be employed are the particular focus of this chapter.
