A new maneuvering target tracking method for HPRF radars

A maneuvering target tracking method for the high pulse-repetition frequency (HPRF) radars has to deal with two problems range ambiguity and maneuvering uncertainty. Therefore, it can not be achieved by the traditional maneuvering target tracking methods directly. A new maneuvering target tracking method for HPRF radars is proposed to realize range ambiguity resolving and maneuvering target tracking simultaneously. The maneuvering target tracking on the condition of range ambiguity is converted to a hybrid filtering problem by considering PIN and its incremental variable as target states. Then, interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm with current statistical model (CSM) is given to realize the hybrid state estimation. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to the existing multiple hypothesis method in terms of tracking accuracy and computation time. (6 pages)
