The paper aims to assess the acacia canopy cover changes for the period 1972-1990 in the Rawashda forest reserve, Eastern Sudan. A linear regression model was applied using Landsat Multi-Spectral Scanner (MSS) data from 1972, 1979 and 1990. The study found an increase in canopy cover from 1972 to 1990, with the larger and denser forest areas occurring in 1990.
