Large scale solar water heater: Experimental and theoretical studies

Abstract The design, fabrication, installation, and hourly, daily, and monthly performance of a solar water heater of capacity 1500 l/day at 60°C temperature are presented. Analysis of the tube-in-tube heat exchanger employed in the proposed system is also incorporated. For appreciation of the analytical results, numerical calculations have been carried out using meteorological parameters of a typical winter day. Experimental results have been validated theoretically. A good agreement between them is found.
