Purpose The genetic changes that drive the metaplastic change from squamous oesophagus (NO) towards Barrett’s oesophagus (BO) and cancer are unclear. microRNAs (miRNAs) are short, non‐coding RNAs that regulate gene expression and contribute to cellular differentiation and identity.
