Research on static load test of long-span suspension bridge

In order to inspect the static behavior of exsiting long-span suspension bridge structures,static load tests were made on a earth-anchored suspension bridge with a span of 128m.The strains(stresses),deflection and the tension of the sling were measured.Comparison of testing data with theoretical values obtained from finite element analysis was carried out.The results show that the values of tension of the sling and deflection coincide with theoretical values.And that the testing coefficient of the sling tension ranges from 0.9 to 1.1 and the slings have good performance are also indicated by the results.The range of testing coefficient of strains is beyond specified range in code,with the residual strains after unloading being relatively large.All indicat that the bearing capacity of the suspension bridge is in an unsafety state.
