A New Method for Losses Minimization in IFOC Induction Motor Drives

the present work is a contribution to improve effic iency and robustness of an indirect field oriented control (IFOC) of an induction motor (IM) drives. The IFOC IM efficiency deteriorates mainly for two reasons: The variation of rotor resistance and operation to weak loads, with a constant flux applied. For these reasons, a method is proposed to choose the optimal needed flux to minimize total machine losses. On the other hand, to avoid the dra wbacks of rotor resistance variation, a fuzzy logic based mechanism is built on to maintain the decoupl ing and avoid supplementary losses. An extensive simulation work yields to selected results to highl ight the efficiency and performances improvement fo r the proposed scheme.
