ISRA: An SAS Macro Program for Item and Subject Response Analysis

Item and Subject/Person Response Analysis (ISRA) is designed to compute the caution indices of Harnisch and Linn (1981) and the modified caution indices of Sato (1975) for items and persons. The major goals of the program are: (1) to reduce time spent scoring tests, (2) to obtain multiple indices of item/test quality, (3) to analyze individual response patterns, and (4) to identify invalid test items using the item caution index. The program also provides traditional item analysis indices (e.g., item difficulty, item discrimination, internal consistency). Based on Guttman’s perfect scale concept, the item caution index provides information similar
