Targeting assessment: how to hit the bull's eye

From the faculty lunchroom to the Oval Office everyone is talking about assessment. Unfortunately, the topic covers such a broad spectrum that it is often difficult to find references that assist computer science departments in formulating and implementing an assessment plan. In this paper we describe our experiences in developing an assessment plan for both CSAB and university accreditation, and we outline an assessment procedure that we believe is both unambiguous and effective.
