Application of ANSYS to the Magnetic Flux Leakage Testing on Pipeline

On the base of introducing the principle of the magnetic flux leakage (MFL) detection,the finite element method based on ANSYS used to simulate and analyze the MFL signal is presented.The results show that the shape parameters of the defect detected can be obtained with the MFL signal, and the piping damaged degree can be concluded. It has significant sense for using the pipeline reasonably.
