Requirement Analysis and Optimization of Combined Networks

Nowadays, the networks with different technologies and functionality become integrated in each other more and more and can be considered as combined networks. The design problems of such networks are close to the traditional design issues in communication networks. However, they are still conceived and designed separately. This paper discusses the integrated design of different network types that will allow more efficient use of the hardware infrastructure and better overview of the costs. Requirements analysis and optimization methods, models and algorithms are addressed. The approach is demonstrated on the example of combined design of wired and wireless networks with the help of the framework CANDY.
