Spectral Characteristics Analysis of Typical Objects in an Island Using QuickBird Images

Satellite remote sensing technology is an important means for remote island's resource and environment monitoring. The spectral characteristics are the key to image classification and information identification. Three QuickBird images acquired at different times were selected for analysis in this paper. Reflectance of typical objects in an island was calculated after the image fusion, registration. Then spectral characteristics of satellite data and the typical objects were analyzed. Analysis results showed that multispectral bands were more suitable for classification than panchromatic band, and the dispersion coefficient could be used as a reference for identification.
