Controllable Smoke Deformation Simulation

To solve the problems in controlling smoke deformation while exhibiting natural-looking behavior,the paper presented a controllable smoke deformed simulation method.Firstly,the attraction force and the driving force were introduced in the N-S equations for the smoke deformation.And then,the MacCormack method was applied to reduce the numerical dissipation in solving the Navier-Stokes equations and preserve the smoke details well.Secondly,the voxelization method was adopted to discretize the model's data into the local grids in the preprocessing.And the attraction coefficient of the local grids outside the model was also calculated.Finally,in order to avoid the re-computation of the attraction coefficient in the interaction of the deformed smoke and the free smoke,the local grids which surround the target model were traced in the global grids.Experimental results show that the smoke deformation can be efficiently controlled and the interaction speed between the deformed smoke and the free smoke was accelerated.
