A Simulation for Uncertainty of Supply Chain Based on Complex Adaptive System

As companies continuously seek to provide products and services to customers faster, cheaper, and with better quality, the supply chain system is becoming recognized as a strategically critical aspect of the firm. supply chain encompasses all of those activities associated with moving goods from the raw material stage through to the end user stage. This includes sourcing and procurement, production scheduling, order processing, inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and customer service. Importantly it also embodies the information systems so necessary to monitor all of these activities. In this paper we discuss the development of an agent-based software system for automating the negotiation process between buyers and sellers (manufacturers and suppliers) and assisting in decision-making regarding supply chain management. The distributed system of autonomous agents functions as an organization, floating bids about contracts, gathering and analyzing responses, formulating bid strategies based on global and local conditions, and presenting their results to management.
