Content popularity-based caching techniques for wireless content delivery

Recently, there are heavy network traffic overheads caused by the repetitive requests of some popular content, such as popular YouTube video clips. If we know the content popularity and make network nodes cache popular content in advance, the network overheads can be reduced by exploiting the cached content instead of receiving it from a base station for every request. In this paper, we introduce some recent work on content popularity-based caching techniques in wireless networks.
