Design of quasi-optical systems converting a gyrotron output into a Gaussian-like beam

The quasi-optical systems designed by Gaussian optics can convert the TE06 mode output (f = 388 GHz) of a submillimetre wave gyrotron into a Gaussian-like beam. The linearly polarized main beam, with an elliptical cross-section produced by a quasi-optical antenna, is converted into a well-collimated beam with a circular cross-section by a system consisting of two parabolic cylinder mirrors or of a parabolic cylinder mirror and a special mirror with focal lengths different in two dimensions.
