Design and evaluation of a 450 W single-stage power-factor-correction converter with universal-line input

This paper proposes a single-stage power-factor-correction (PFC) technique with continuous input inductor current suitable for universal line-voltage applications. The circuit operation and design considerations are discussed. Theoretical calculations and comparisons are given to evaluate the proposed technique. Finally, the circuit operations and performance are verified by the experimental results of a 5 V/450 W-output prototype.
