An apparatus for measuring body fat and a method for providing a body fat measurement result are provided to offer comparison results of partial body fat measurement values between a user and a designated person by body parts through a graph, a graphic, a text, or a voice. A method for providing a body fat measurement result includes the steps of: maintaining a body fat information database to record body fat information of a designated person including partial body fat information corresponding to body parts of the designated person, for at least one designated person(712); providing a designated person list for at least one designated person recorded in the body fat information database to a user and receiving user's selection for a first designated person in the designated person list(713,714); and generating the body fat measurement result of partial body fat measurement values between the user and the first designated person(716).
