Miniaturization of Antenna Using Magneto-Dielectric Materials

This paper proposes an antenna design using magneto-dielectric material. It is proved that the magneto-dielectric material can be used to miniaturize antenna size, just with moderate values of permittivity and permeability. A very small antenna is presented with antenna's area of 0.078lambda0times0.016lambda0, while the return loss can reach -38dB at the resonant frequency. The parameters of dielectric material for that best performance are epsivr=1.71-j0.004, and mur=2.39-j2.58. Besides, this material also has ability to control the trade-off between the gain and bandwidth while keeping the antenna size unchanged
