Assemble Torque Measurement of Aero-Engine Rotor Blisk inside Deep and Confined Cavity

In order to solve the fastening torque measurement problem of blisk bolts inside the deep (600mm) and confined (ϕ100) cavity of the aero-engine rotor, a measurement method is proposed and integrated into an automatic assembly machine. The system including measuring and fastening functions is designed in consideration of the geometrical features and operation process, which presents the distribution rules of strain gage sensors. Then the torque measuring method based on artificial neural network theory, and the calibration principle are proposed. Finally, the system is developed and tested in a simulative aero-engine rotor. The experiment results indicate that the proposed torque measuring method and the integrated system are effective for the inner bolt assembling of aero-engine rotor blisk, and the error of measured torque can be no greater than 2Nm.
