Segmentation of Printed Arabic Text

This paper proposes a new technique to segment Printed Arabic words into characters using Explicit Segmentation. The technique can be divided into several steps: (1) Digitization and preprocessing (2) binary tree construction; and (3) Segmentation. The advantage of this technique is that its execution does depend on either the font or size of character.
