Voltage and current relays settings under reconnection of islanded wind farms

Reconnection of a wind turbine after islanding is done by a recloser. If over/under voltage or overcurrent relays settings were not correct, then reconnection will fail. This paper focuses on a procedure for obtaining suitable settings. Voltage and current behavior under and after islanding operation are taken into consideration. Obtained results by SIMULINK/MATLAB are used for adjustment of over current and over/under voltage. The research is conducted on VESTAS V 47 wind turbine with capacity of 660 kW and 690 volt.
