Selection of Logistics Services Provider (LSP) under fuzzy environment: a graph-theoretic and matrix approach

Logistics Services Providers (LSPs) play a vital role in accomplishing the strategic objectives of shippers; hence, it requires careful evaluation. The earmarking of a potential LSP requires critical evaluation, identification and comparison. This work proposes a methodology based on digraph and matrix approach for evaluating alternative LSPs. An LSP selection index that evaluates and ranks the LSPs has been derived from an LSP selection attributes' function, obtained from the digraph of LSP selection attributes. The digraph is developed considering LSP selection attributes under fuzzy environment. Coefficients of similarity, coefficients of dissimilarity and the identification sets are further proposed for comparison.
