Accurate simulation method for interconnect trees with frequency-dependent transmission line model

An accurate simulation method based on inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) is developed for interconnect trees with transmission line model. It can simulate time domain responses of interconnect trees under any input signal. Accurate transmission line model for interconnects with frequency-dependent losses is used for all branches of interconnect trees. The exact transfer function can be computed iteratively based on cascaded property of ABCD matrix of interconnects. Experimental results validate that it runs faster than SPICE with high accuracy. Therefore, it is suitable for simulation of high-speed interconnect trees.
