Editorial

It is an honor to serve as the next Editor-in-Chief of your ACM Journal of Emerging Technologies in Computing (JETC). As a backdrop, I have served as an Associate Editor since 2008 with Prof. Vijayakrishnan Narayanan, Prof. Krishnendu Chakrabarty, and Prof. Yuan Xie, all of whom helped bring JETC to its current steady state of operation with its hard-earned and well-deserved prominence. The ACM JETC Editorial Board will continue leading this publication as the premium venue for emerging technologies in computing. This is (y)our journal. I look forward to your enthusiastic support as an author, as an expert reviewer, as a guest editor, or as a member of our top-notch and active editorial board. ACM JETC will provide detailed coverage of new research in emerging technologies. As a priority, the editorial board is enlisting special issues and special sections on timely and high-impact emerging technologies. We have already lined up special sections on the emerging topics of hardware security, in-memory computing, and machine learning architectures. Several more are in the works. In case you have ideas for other emerging topics, please reach out to me. To the authors who plan to consider ACM JETC as a publication vehicle, we will strive to deliver timely reviews/decisions with a target time to the first decision of six weeks without compromising quality. This is another important priority. We have several more exciting priorities lined up, and we will unveil them shortly. On behalf of the ACM JETC team, I wish you all a happy, healthy, and productive 2020.
