Early Rotor Rub-Impact Fault Detection Using Cross-Correlation and Chaos Oscillator Array

The key of early fault detection is weak signal detection. But traditional chaos detection methods can deal with weak signals of single frequency and limited signal to noise ratio, and when noise is too strong, performance of the detection system is decreased. Thus it can't meet the needs of an aircraft rotor system's early fault detection, including weak signal, strong noise and multi-frequency. To improve detection effectiveness, by employing cross-correlation for denoising and building chaos oscillators array, the method of using array scan for weak fault signal detection is proposed. The detection principle of this method is analyzed, and its feasibility is verified by the example of an aircraft rotor system's early rubimpact fault detection.
