Recent developments in thio-LISICON solid electrolytes

The safety issues are more serious for current commercial organic liquid electrolytes because of the increasing battery size. One of the feasible ways to improve the safety is to develop solid electrolyte( SE) for all-solid-state rechargeable batteries,which theoretically have long cycle life as well as high energy density and thus are promising to apply in large-scale energy storage systems. How to continue to enhance the ionic conductivity of SE is one of the key issues in development of all-solid-state batteries.This review provides a comparative overview regarding thio-LISICON SEs,one of the best ionic conductors,on the compositions,structures,preparations,electrochemical performance and the mechanism to improve material performance. It is believed that this review will be an important reference for the follow-up research on SEs.
