The effects of monocular lid suture upon the development of the visual cortex in squirrels (Sciureus carolinensis)

Three infant squirrels had the lids of one eye sutured prior to eye opening. The animals were killed when they were adults and the cells in the visual cortex were studied after Nissl staining.
