In this paper the results from a study about typical harmonic spectra in Austrian electricity distribution and transmission networks are presented. The study was done by Graz University of Technology in cooperation with the Association of Austrian Electricity Companies (VEÖ). Besides characteristic harmonic spectra for current and voltage, it also includes weighting coefficients for evaluation of the harmonic impact on electric and magnetic fields. Furthermore, symmetrical component analysis is applied to the harmonics, since the zero sequence system may lead to a significant contribution to electric or magnetic fields.
