Ray optics modelling for indoor propagation at 1.8 GHz

A study of parameters used in developing ray optical prediction methods for indoor radio propagation at 1.8 GHz has been initiated. Measurements have been made of reflection coefficients and transmission losses and these have been applied to a simple multi-ray model of propagation down a corridor. Predictions compared with measured results of propagation loss on a floor of a modern multi-storey building containing offices and laboratories demonstrate the need to include diffraction effects in the analysis.<<ETX>>
