Toward A Linear Control Design For Power Systems

This paper details the design of local linear controllers to achieve transient stability of power systems. The design method is based on Lyapunov direct method and does not require linearization of nonlinear transformation. The resulting linear control law can stabilise a power system without exact knowledge of its parameters except the steady state of the power system. The steday state in normally the desired trajectory and is in fact the solution of the power flow equations of the power system. The effect that the obtained steady state differs from the actual desired trajectory is also considered.
