Investigation of the Vibration Sensitivity of different Annealed Fiber Optic Current Transformers

The development of magnetooptic current sensors MOCT’s has reached a considerable technological standard and therefore they are expexted to be used in applications of the electric power industry within the next few years. For instance it is planned to integrate MOCT’s into power generators and power circuit breakers. These are places with harsh environmental conditions where continuous vibrations and mechanical shocks act on the optical sensors. For such kind of applications the MOCT must not exceed the general accuracy limitations.
