Optimal DG allocation in distribution systems using Ant lion optimizer

In this article, a proposed optimization technique called Ant lion optimizer (ALO) is applied to determine the Optimal Size and Location of distributed Generation (DG) units in Radial Distribution Networks RDNs. The employment of renewable sources as as a sort of DG technology in the RDNs provides both clean generation of electrical energy and improvement of the RDNs performance. In this study, the Photovoltaic PV cells are used as DG units installed in 33, 69 standard bus systems. The effects of these units are to minimize the total active losses, and improve the voltage profile of the all system buses which are adopted as a multi objective function. The numerical results of the proposed algorithm have been compared with those of other optimization techniques to verify the technique superiority and performance.
