This paper presents the instataneous motion analysis and sensitivity analysis of suspension mechanisms used in small automobiles. A suspension mechanism is considered and used for the McPherson suspension in small automobiles. First, the suspension is modeled as a multiloop spatial rigid body guidance mechanism for the two major motions: bump/rebound and steering motion. Then the displacement matrix and the design equations for SSP,RS, and SC strut links are applied to determine the sensistivity by numerical method. Using the instant pitch matrix and the differential design equation, the resulting wheel movements are determined in terms of suspension derivatives for the principal body motions of vertical and rolling velocity.
