INTRODUCTION Contextual field research is a growing area of interest in human-computer interaction. This panel is an outgrowth of a CHI '88 Special Interest Group on "Field Research Techniques for Building Usable Products." The panehsts and audience will share experiences in using contextual field research methods both in research and product development , and discuss issues which have come out of their experience.
