Determinants of Disciplinary Discontent

Selon les disciplines universitaires, il existe de substantielles variations dans la perception de la facon dont un champ peut stagner. Cet article tente d'expliquer ces differences de pessimisme par une theorie mettant en cause une variation dans l'anomie et le consensus au niveau du champ lui-meme. Le fait qu'il s'agisse d'un champ se situant dans une discipline fondamentale ou appliquee a egalement son importance. Enfin, il est montre que les determinants se situant au niveau du champ ont une influence bien plus importante que les facteurs d'ordre individuels
