Thispaper presents an efficient technique forthe transient simulation oftransmission lines using thez-line model. Itisbasedon circuit latency exploitation, i.e., thepossibility of usingdifferent andsimultaneous integration stepsinthetime domainsimulation ofelectric networks. Forlatency exploitation theoriginal networkissubdivided insubnetworks andeachone issimulated witha timestepaccording toits own requirements. Withthisapproach thelimitations ofthez-linemodelcan be overcome, makingitvery attractive as themodelofchoice for accurate simulation oftransmission lines.
