Application of Dynamic Vibration Absorber to Optimization of NVH Property of Steering Wheels

In experimental modal testing and frequency analysis,it was found that resonance of the drive shaft is the main reason of the large vibration amplitude of the steering wheel of a vehicle.Thus,dynamic vibration absorber was applied to the drive shaft for vibration reduction.The two cases for the drive shaft with and without absorbers were tested.And the modal frequencies of drive shaft and vibration amplitude of steering wheel for the two cases were compared and discussed.It shows that the absorber plays an important role in vibration reduction,and the problem of over-vibration of the steering wheel has been solved.
