A Reference Input Computation Method for MIMO Linear Discrete Time Systems

Abstract A method of computing a reference input to achieve a desired finite output trajectory is presented. The technique is equally applicable to minimum, non-minimum phase, stable, and unstable systems. The approach is based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) of the system's input-output matrix. A SISO formulation is introduced which forms the basis for an extension to MIMO systems.
