AHP-based framework for prioritising critical success factors to achieve ERP implementation success

The purpose of this study is to develop a hierarchical framework that encompasses the entities that affect the ERP implementation process. An AHP model is developed with multiple levels. The levels comprise the primary factors decomposed into themes and sub-factors, the actors involved, and finally their actors' definition of success in terms of criteria and sub-criteria. This paper provides a mechanism to identify the relative importance of the critical success factors, actors, and the success criteria and sub-criteria. This mechanism enables the stakeholders to express their opinion on the various aspects of the ERP implementation in the setting of a group decision making process. Depending on the differences of the stakeholders' responses from the organisational point of views, corrective action can be taken in a more focused manner.
