A vesicular-arbuscular fungus in the diet of brushtail possums, Trichosurus vulpecula

Abstract Spores of the vesicular-arbuscular fungus Glomus macrocarpus Tul. & Tul. were identified in possum faeces from an area of podocarp/mixed hardwood forest in the Orongorongo Valley, near Wellington. Percent occurrence in monthly samples ranged from 0 to 22.2%, with most records being from the period October to January.
