Analysis of Handover Rate Improvement by Applying Hysteresis Threshold – Locally Optimal Models and Variation Number of BTS on CDMA System

Hysteresis improves the handover performance by increasing or decreasing the active set within cellular network. This paper observes the handover rate performance by varying hysteresis values as well as varying the number of BTS and optimizing the process by using locally optimal method. Simulation results show that increasing hysteresis results optimal reduction in handover rate or both changes in the number of BTS and propagation channel model used. The optimal handover rate leads to reductions in disconnection frequency as well as switching connection cost.
