Stability analysis of 2-D state-space digital filters using Lyapunov function: a caution

A previously proposed Lyapunov-based approach for the stability analysis of two-dimensional (2-D) state-space digital filters is reviewed. It is shown that the approach, as it is, may lead to an erroneous conclusion.
