Path Loss Characteristics for Wireless Communication System in Rotating Electrical Machine

Despite the wireless communication for rotating electrical machines is beneficial for both real time monitoring and diagnosis purposes, this technology application may cause some inconveniences. The difficulties are introduced from many factors like: cramped space, the geometry of the devices, the flux of rotating electrical machine and especially the presence of rotating electromagnetic fields of transmitting module. In order to avoid this inconvenience and to enhance the reliability of the system communication, it is important to study methods of improving wireless data transmission performance in rotating environments for obtaining the optimum parameters. Therefore, in this work, we aim at studying the path loss variation in rotating environment, which is an important parameter to analyze and design link budget. The simulation results show that the path loss and its fluctuation are proportional to the system parameters for example the operating frequency and the rotating radius.
