Compound genetic algorithm on optimization design of hybrid discrete variables

At present, the research on genetic algorithm of hybrid discrete variables is comparatively less; furthermore the existent algorithm could not fairly satisfy the requirements of engineering design on the treatment of designing variables. For this reason, a kind of engineering treatment method on designing variables orientating design and manufacturing, which could reasonably deal with value adopting problems of hybrid discrete variables in optimization design, was put foreword. A chaos emigration operator was introduced for carrying out improvement on the fundamental genetic algorithm, and the compound genetic algorithmic program LSGA for the optimization of hybrid discrete variables was developed. The living example of engineering design showed that this algorithm has no special requirements on the characteristics of optimal designing problems, it has a fairly good universal adaptability and a reliable operation of program with a strong ability of overall convergency.
