Parking surveillance and number plate recognition application

Automatic surveillance of parking lots is an interesting and actual problem of our time. Inefficiency and human labor are the main reasons for automation. With the help of digital cameras and PCs the developed method is a fast, real-time useable solution for this problem. This work concentrates on the occupation of parking spaces and number plate recognition. In addition the application can be used to grant or deny access for vehicles in case of closed parking lots. The work presents the methods and algorithms used in our solution.
