Image compression using eventually contractive IFS

A novel fractal image coding scheme using same-sized range and domain blocks is proposed. In the coding scheme, domains blocks can be the same-sized as range ones without being restrained to be larger, however, some conditions must be satisfied to ensure the convergence of the decoding. Detailed implementation steps and some experiments are given in the paper. The novel scheme can extend the traditional scheme and improve the fractal coding performance a great deal.
