ABSTRACT THE purpose of this study was to determine the effects of nozzle pressure and wind velocity on spray pattern displacement (SPD) for 8004 and XR8004 fan nozzles (Spraying System Co.), Tests were conducted at nozzle pressures of 103.5, 207.0, 310.5, and 379.5 kPa and at five wind conditions. (CI, low velocity crosswind of 2.68 m/s; C2, high velocity crosswind of 4.46 m/s; H, headwind of 2.23 m/s; CIH, combination of low velocity crosswind and headwind; and C2H, combination of high velocity crosswind and headwind). Results revealed that the mean SPD values for the XR8004 fan nozzle were significantly lower (P <0.05) than that for 8004 fan nozzle. Wind condition significantly affected the SPD values of 8004 and XR8004 fan nozzles. As expected, the mean SPD values for high wind conditions were higher than that of low wind conditions. Also, the mean SPD values for headwind conditions were the least.
