Scholarly Communication and Engineering Education

In the last ten years, a great deal of discussion and initiatives originating from professional societies such as the Association of Research Libraries1 and the Association of College and Research Libraries2 have emerged with the purpose of finding solutions for the improvement of the systems of scholarly communication. In this article, the author presents some of the most significant ideas and changes being produced and ends by introducing the concept of creating a platform where engineering educators can benefit from these new approaches.
